Not-for-Profit Essentials: Federal Grant Compliance
May 14 @ 8:30 am - 4:10 pm$125
We invite you to join us on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, for the Not-for-Profit Essentials: Federal Grant Compliance webinar. Federal grant compliance requirements are not intuitive and come with a high risk of noncompliance. Come for a full day devoted to learning the basics of federal grants compliance, covering the requirements of the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Uniform Guidance, with an additional focus on cooperative agreements received by not-for-profit organizations. Whether you are new to receiving federal grant assistance or are worried about what you may not know, our sessions will be informative and useful for everyone who works with federal assistance subject to the Uniform Guidance. This course is well suited for those working in finance, grants management, program management, compliance, and executive positions. The course will cover the following basics:
What is the Uniform Guidance?
The session begins with an overview of the Uniform Guidance and the tips and techniques to administering federal grants.
Grant Administrative Requirements
The government’s administrative requirements for grants and agreements for not-for-profit organizations can be daunting even for a seasoned professional. We will help you through the pre-award requirements and policies as well as the financial and program management requirements of the post-award activities.
Allowable Costs and Indirect Cost Fundamentals
The government’s cost principles for contracts and other agreements with not-for-profit organizations are thorough, but difficult to navigate and understand. You will learn the basic considerations of costs, the difference between direct and indirect costs, and why negotiated indirect cost rates are the most effective mechanism for recovering your indirect costs. If your organization is currently receiving federal grants and contracts, this is a section you won’t want to miss.
Audits of not-for-profit organizations receiving federal funds are one of those routine requirements of not-for-profit life. We’ll help you to understand how to prepare for your Single Audit by understanding the basic audit requirements and resources available to you as an auditee.
