We invite you to join us on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, for the Not-for-Profit Essentials: Functional Allocation of Expenses webinar. How you allocate expenses is important for projecting the right picture of your organization’s activities. Learn how to classify expenses in the right categories and why it is critical to differentiate appropriately between program services and supporting activities. You will also learn how to allocate expenses related to more than one function and properly disclose the organization’s methodology in doing do.

We will tie this in to how the functional expenses are reported for tax purposes, including why the allocation between program, management, and fundraising expenses is important, as it drives many of the third-party charity rating tools. We will also cover tax return disclosures relating to grantmaking activities (Schedules F and I) and foreign expenditures (Schedule F).
