Data Breaches in the Hospitality Industry: What You Should Know (Bellevue)

September 10, 2014 @ 7:30 am - 9:30 am

Legal Seafoods. PF Chang’s. White Lodging Services Corporation. Las Vegas Sands Hotel and Casinos. South San Francisco Embassy Suites Hotel. These companies are among the nearly 600 reporting a data breach from January 2013-July 2014 alone. What will those numbers look like at the end of the year? Will your company be among those numbers?

Data breaches strike all industries, but for the hospitality industry the stakes are extremely high: there have been recent court rulings which make failure to protect a lodging guest’s information “unfair business practices” under FTC guidelines. And, the fallout from a data breach can do irreparable harm to a company’s brand. What can a business do to defend against the risk of a data breach?

There’s an old saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The best way to defend against a data breach is being informed and prepared before it happens.

Join us for this complimentary learning event, where our distinguished panel will examine data breaches from various angles: legal, insurance, IT, and communications.
