As an elected member of a not-for-profit board, one of the most important responsibilities you have is hiring and overseeing the work of a talented CEO/executive director. Leading a not-for-profit can be incredibly challenging, especially through times of crisis. If you serve on a not-for-profit board, it’s more likely you’ll have an executive director vacancy in the next 4-5 years. The best plan for your board is to be prepared through succession planning for the future, positive engagement and good communication between board and leader, and effective annual planning and reviews. In this session, we will share our best practices and insights to help you navigate these important milestones.
