Practice Emphasis

  • Endowments
  • Management and external reporting
  • Internal controls and policies

Proven Results

  • Designed a compensation system for a private school, including a formula that calculated pay rates based both on seniority and merit. Illustrated the system with various charts to help in the acceptance and implementation of the new plan.
  • Designed a complex cash flow model to help a not-for-profit predict cash flow needs during a major capital campaign that involved multi-year pledges, matching gifts based on cash collections of pledges, and construction costs early in the campaign.
  • Worked with a not-for-profit arts group to develop a business plan that they successfully used for fund-raising purposes with major donors.
  • Developed an endowment tracking system, which pooled investment funds and allocated the earnings on a pro rata basis to the numerous separate funds included in the endowment. The system tracked restrictions and followed the organization’s spending policy, automatically re-allocating earnings from permanent to temporarily restricted per the policy and the donor’s restrictions.
  • Consulted with a not-for-profit arts organizations to set up a new endowment, including advice on policies, forms, solicitations, management, and accounting. Explained concepts and presented results to the newly formed Endowment Committee made up of Board members for their review and approval.
