With organizations approaching their year‐end, it is important to consider how today’s financial actions affect year‐end reporting. Below are some of the items and reminders to consider before year‐end:
Donor Acknowledgement Letters
Organizations are encouraged to provide contemporaneous written donor acknowledgment letters to all donors who contributed to the organization during the tax year. While not universally required, with the exception of certain gifts exceeding $75 where the organization provides a return benefit, this practice can assist donors in obtaining the necessary documentation for claiming charitable contribution deductions on their taxes.
Important Topics: Washington State and Local Tax
The following supplement is intended for Washington-based organizations and covers topics such as Washington State renewals and reporting obligations, the Washington State capital gains tax, the Seattle payroll expense tax, and more.
