The Equifax Data Breach: Protect Your Information

Worried about how the Equifax data breach might have affected you? The Federal Trade Commission recently released a step-by-step informational to help you determine your security—and figure out what to do if your information has been compromised. Approximately 143 million Americans were affected by the breach, which lasted from mid-May through July 2017.

Not sure if your information has been compromised? The Federal Trade Commission suggests all credit users check their reports, place a credit freeze on their files, monitor their existing credit card and bank accounts, place fraud alerts on their files, and file their taxes early.
